Charity hits the ice with Social Club!
Charity hits the ice with Social Club! Free weekly club for young adults with additional needs indulges in the festivities with ice rink trip.
As we roll into December and the festivities begin to commence it means only one thing - it is time to get into the Christmas spirit! The latest sessions at the Charity to be subject to this festive spirit was our Social Club. The Social Club is a free, weekly, all-inclusive social club for young adults with additional needs, who may not access social opportunities. The club has grown to around twelve attendees, with the Charity facilitating various experiences that have spiked their interests. These experiences include a weekend away at Centre Parcs, a graphic design workshop and attending a Bath Rugby match, to name a few!
When we suggested the latest experience of ice skating it was met with a resounding βYes!β from the adventurous group. Consequently we laced up our skates and collectively gave it our best Torvill and Dean impression! The evening was a great skating success as the Social Club not only gained a new experience, but many within the group pushed their boundaries and increased their resilience as the skating session physically tested their respective capacities. Their success was toasted with a pizza slice or two and a few fizzy drinks. Next up for the Social Club is a Christmas dinner later in the month. Ho-ho-ho!
