Charity host Center Parcs trip for Social Club adults!

Charity hosts Center Parcs trips for Social Club adults! Young adults get new experience with weekend away.

In a recent update on our weekly Social Club for young adults with additional needs, we shared how they had designed their own garments - with the assistance of XGraffix - for an upcoming trip to Center Parcs. We’re delighted to now express how successful the weekend trip was. Six young adults, who regularly attend our weekly Social Club, were provided with the opportunity to visit Center Parcs for the weekend as they indulged in an all-paid for trip under the supervision of Sporting Family Change staff. The weekend included various opportunities, from swimming, bowling, canoeing, football golf and cooking to name a few. The young adults also indulged in all-paid trip to the on-site Sports Bar, American Grill, Indian Cuisine and Pancake House. The trip was both humbling and exciting, whilst reminding us internally of the privilege to be the one to facilitate such opportunity. For many of the young adults it was the first time they had been away from the weekend on such trip and first time experiencing Center Parcs. Jamie, a young adult attending the weekend trip, commented “It was a great weekend. It was wicked. That was a new adventure together that I really enjoyed. It was great making new memories. Mum is gonna be so jealous!”

We’d like to thank all the young adults in attendance for entrusting us with such a new experience for them. For many, as exciting as it was, it was also an initially nervous time as they stayed away from and experienced new opportunities for the first time. You can view the various pictures from the weekend away below.
