Charity hosts Design Workshop for Young Adults!
Charity hosts design workshop for young adults! Local business XGraffix supports our Social Club with latest opportunity.
Those that have had time to view our Ocean of Kindness here, would know that we host a weekly Social Club for young adults with additional needs. The attendees are amazing and unique young people, who - due to their needs - may not have the same social opportunities as similar-aged peers of theirs. This is where our Social Club aims to facilitate social opportunities and provide positive experiences on a weekly basis that they may not otherwise have access to due to common social barriers.
We were therefore very grateful to South West based organisation XGraffix, for providing the latest great experience when they delivered a design workshop for the young adults. Karly and Nikki at XGraffix, provided a great design workshop experience, as the young adults chose garments they wished to design and then chose how they wanted to personally make them unique pieces - from their own lettering to embossing them with interests of theirs, such as football. The young people not only left with their own one-of-one pieces of clothing, but were able to learn about the design and print process behind making the garments unique to them. This design workshop was part of a wider upcoming opportunity for the Social Club as we prepare to facilitate a weekend away in Center Parcs with them. All designed pieces had a visble nod to the imminent social trip and will be worn during the weekend away. As we did on the night, we would like to thank XGraffix once again for their unconditional kindness and providing the Social Club with yet another great and unique experience.
