Cyclists complete Cycle to Colosseum Challenge alongside Charity!

Cyclists complete Cycle to Colosseum challenge alongside Charity! 35 inspiring cyclists reach Rome to complete mammoth three day cycle!

Each year at the Charity we aim to facilitate a sporting challenge. These challenges have ranged from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 2014 to running the New York Half Marathon in 2024 to commemorate our 10 year anniversary. They are a foundational fabric within Sporting Family Change that sews us and the local community all together. The reason they are such a priority to us is because we believe in the power of sport and unconditional kindness to empower individuals to achieve things they never deemed possible. We are therefore proud as punch to celebrate that all 35 of our cyclists have now successfully completed our Cycle to the Colosseum challenge!!

The Cycle to the Colosseum challenge was our latest sporting endeavour, which challenged cyclists of all abilities, ages and experience levels to ride to Rome from Florence across three days. In case that didn’t astound you, it was a 240 mile cycle with over 15,000 ft elevation across the Italian mountains thrown in for good measure! For many within the 35 cyclists, they had not rode a bike in years let alone taking on a cycling challenge of this magnitude in a foreign country. It is a truly incredible feat that this inspiring group have managed to achieve. The challenge was not without blood, sweat and tears- literally - but was a reminder to all once more how sport and kindness can propel individuals to achieve things beyond their wildest dreams. For now we are going to pop a celebratory bottle of champagne or two, eat too much pizza and sleep for days, because when in Rome…
