Charity announces expanded Kindness Festival! Football Finale success evolves into wider community festival for 2025.
You don’t have to take a long look around here to realise we’re all about kindness - it is foundational to everything we create and deliver. This kindness formed our weekly football club back in September 2021 to provide stability and continuity for the young people we see, whose mentoring sessions had ended with their respective primary and secondary schools. This free weekly football club then evolved into an open-access session for the entire community, encouraging all ages and abilities to engage in sport. The success of this session has gone from strength to strength, validated by it continuing to this day, every Monday, close to four years on! As a celebration of this success, last year we hosted a Charity football match at Paulton Rovers stadium. Those who participated in the event were regulars to the free football club sessions on the Mondays and it provided them with an opportunity they may not otherwise have had access to by playing at a stadium in front of a crowd of our brilliant supporters. It was a great success, but this year we’re going bigger!
Now to the actual point of the article! We’re expanding our previous Football Finale event in 2024 to create a Kindness Festival. This will be a never-seen-before event in which not only engages the young people who attend our weekly football, but the holistic family and wider community. This year on August 17th at Welton Rovers Football Club, we will not only be hosting the second iteration of the Charity football match, we will be hosting various activities, workshops and live entertainment in an event inclusive for everyone. We have already confirmed some really cool, kind, local organisations to join us in delivering on the event but we won’t be sharing who just yet!
